If you are not sure about
the understanding of anything mentioned in this document,
or anything on this website, we encourage you to ask questions
by submitting an Inquiry.
At anytime, before and after registration, it is always
free to ask for help with respect to these terms and agreements
or any rules explained on this site. We strongly advise
that you understand everything clearly so that you can
take full advantage of our services.
If there are any concerns,
disputes, or specific matters that require special attention,
please email the details to the SC
Manager.
Waiver of Liability
By accepting these Terms and Agreements,
you agree to release Strings Connected from all claims
for damages arising from any accidents or injury which
are caused by or arise from your participation during
any Strings Connected teaching method.
Refund Policy
Credit
Refunds are not generally given for credit
purchased. Only with approval by SC Management, exceptions
can be made under special circumstances. Credit is transferable
to another student’s account. All unused credit
will remain secure and will not expire as long as the
account is active. If an account remains inactive for
1 full year, all unused credit will then expire.
Products
Refunds are given within 5 days of purchase,
provided that the product is in resalable condition. Receipts
are not necessary from Strings Connected students.
Specific
to Teaching Method
Correspondence (Dynamic):
When you submit a C&R
request, you should get a response within 24 hours. Credit
is not debited from your Account
until a response is sent from your teacher.
To cancel a "Correspondence
(Dynamic)" C&R
request, you can only make an attempt to cancel by contacting
your teacher before they respond. There is no guarantee
that your request will be cancelled because your teacher
may already be working on your request. Because the nature
of this teaching method is to provide immediate help,
as soon as possible, this request is "active"
from the start. A request can be cancelled at the discretion
of your teacher, if you are able to contact them before
they have responded. Again, there is no guarantee that
this will be cancelled.
When you contact your teacher,
asking for help with your progress in music, this is considered
a C&R request. We
recommend that you clearly state, in your communications
to your teacher, when it is a C&R
request to avoid any misunderstandings. Your teacher will
check your SC
Account, before responding, and debit your Account
accordingly. Your request will be considered a "Correspondence
(Dynamic)" C&R
request if you do not have an available C&R
request from an active "Correspondence (Static)"
C&R set in your
STM
list. This is always checked first. If you do not have
enough credit available, you will be informed.
Correspondence (Static):
When you submit a C&R
request, you should get a response within 24 hours. Your
STM
list is not marked until a response is sent from your
teacher.
To cancel a "Correspondence
(Static)" C&R
set, it has to be removed from your STM
list before its start date (day 1 of 7). You specify this
start date when you add this request to your STM
list. Any C&R set
that has not yet reached its start date, is considered
"pending", and can be removed anytime you wish.
When a C&R set has
started, it's considered "active", and it can
not be removed from your STM
list. You are now committed to 1 request each day, for
the next 7 days, and then this C&R
set will expire from your STM
list. You can start these 7 days any day of the week.
If you ever need to cancel a "Correspondence (Static)"
C&R request, the
same terms specified for cancelling a "Correspondence
(Dynamic)" C&R
request, also apply to the "Correspondence (Static)"
C&R requests.
When you contact your
teacher, asking for help with your progress in music,
this is considered a C&R
request. We recommend that you clearly state, in your
communications to your teacher, when it is a C&R
request to avoid any misunderstandings. Your teacher will
check your SC
Account, before responding, and mark your STM
list, indicating that you have used that day's request.
You can only use one "Correspondence (Static)"
C&R request per
day, so if you want to request a second C&R
on the same day, it would be considered a "Correspondence
(Dynamic)" C&R
request, which means your Account
will be debited instead. If you do not have enough credit
available, you will be informed. If you do not use a "Correspondence
(Static)" C&R
request on any one of these seven days, then that day's
request will be lost (expired).
Online Sessions (Dynamic):
To cancel an "Online
Sessions (Dynamic)" session request, it has to be
removed from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time, while it is still
"pending". Once a request has less than 24 hours
until the scheduled time, it becomes "active",
and both you and your teacher can not remove an active
request; you are committed to this session.
At the time of your session,
your teacher will contact you online. If you can not be
reached, your teacher will call you. If you still can
not be reached, you are considered not available. If you
are considered not available for a missed session, this
credit will be lost.
If your teacher fails
to contact you at the time of your session, your teacher
is considered not available. If your teacher is considered
not available for a missed session, the value of credit
for this session will be returned to your Account.
If a session can not proceed due to any technical problems
from either your ISP (Internet Service Provider), or your
teacher's ISP, then this is considered a no fault missed
session, and the value of credit for this session will
be returned to your Account
(confirmation from the ISP at fault will be required).
Any technical problem with your own computer is your responsibility,
and you will be considered not available if this results
in a missed session. Any technical problem with your teacher's
computer is your teacher's responsibility, and your teacher
will be considered not available if this results in a
missed session.
Online Sessions (Static):
To cancel an "Online
Sessions (Static)" session set request, it has to
be removed from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time of session 1,
while the session set is still "pending". Because
this option involves 4 consecutive sessions at a time,
once the first session becomes "active", the
session set also becomes active, and you are now committed
to these 4 consecutive sessions. If the session set is
active and you need to cancel any remaining sessions (2,
3, or 4), the same terms specified for the "Online
Sessions (Dynamic)" sessions also apply to the "Online
Sessions (Static)" sessions, with the following exceptions:
Because you are committed to an active session set, you
will not receive any returned credit to your Account
from successfully cancelled sessions or no fault missed
sessions. These sessions are still active, so you will
be required to schedule a makeup session before the expiry
of this session set, or this credit will be lost.
Online Classes:
To cancel an "Online
Classes" course, it has to be removed from your STM
list before the scheduled time of class 2, while the course
is still "pending". This option involves 8 classes
per course. Once the second class begins, the course is
considered "active", and you are now committed
to these 8 classes, unless the course is cancelled. Strings
Connected may cancel a course until the scheduled time
of class 3. During an active course, if a student is unable
to attend a class, the class will continue without that
student. If the teacher is unavailable, all students must
be notified before the scheduled time of the missed class,
and a makeup class will be scheduled.
At Student's Home (Dynamic):
To cancel an "At
Student's Home (Dynamic)" lesson request, it has
to be removed from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time, while it is still
"pending". Once a request has less than 24 hours
until your scheduled time, it becomes "active",
and both you and your teacher can not remove an active
request; you are committed to this lesson.
If your teacher does not
arrive at your scheduled time, and does not provide notice,
your teacher is considered not available. This is a teacher
missed lesson, and the value of credit for this lesson
will be returned to your Account.
If you are considered not available for your scheduled
time, this is a student missed lesson, and the value of
credit for this lesson will be lost. If your teacher can
not commute due to severe weather conditions, then it
is considered a no fault missed lesson, and the value
of credit for this lesson will be returned to your Account.
At Student's Home (Static):
To cancel an "At Student's
Home (Static)" lesson set request, it has to be removed
from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time of lesson 1, while
the lesson set is still "pending". Because this
option involves 4 consecutive lessons at a time, once
the first lesson becomes "active", the lesson
set also becomes active, and you are now committed to
these 4 consecutive lessons. If the lesson set is active
and you need to cancel any remaining lessons (2, 3, or
4), the same terms specified for the "At Student's
Home (Dynamic)" lessons also apply to the "At
Student's Home (Static)" lessons, with the following
exceptions: Because you are committed to an active lesson
set, you will not receive any returned credit to your
Account
from successfully cancelled lessons or from no fault missed
lessons. These lessons are still active, so you will be
required to schedule a makeup lesson before the expiry
of this lesson set, or this credit will be lost.
At Teacher's Home (Dynamic):
To cancel an "At
Teacher's Home (Dynamic)" lesson request, it has
to be removed from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time, while it is still
"pending". Once a request has less than 24 hours
until your scheduled time, it becomes "active",
and both you and your teacher can not remove an active
request; you are committed to this lesson.
You are expected to arrive
at the scheduled time of your lesson; this is when your
time begins. You may arrive late and proceed with the
balance of any time remaining. If you are not available
for your scheduled time, this is a student missed lesson,
and the value of credit for this lesson will be lost.
If your teacher is not available at your scheduled time,
this is a teacher missed lesson, and the value of credit
for this lesson will be returned to your Account.
If you can not commute due to severe weather conditions,
then it is considered a no fault missed lesson, and you
may schedule a makeup lesson anytime within the next 7
days.
At Teacher's Home (Static):
To cancel an "At Teacher's
Home (Static)" lesson set request, it has to be removed
from your STM
list 24 hours before the scheduled time of lesson 1, while
the lesson set is still "pending". Because this
option involves 4 consecutive lessons at a time, once
the first lesson becomes "active", the lesson
set also becomes active, and you are now committed to
these 4 consecutive lessons. If the lesson set is active
and you need to cancel any remaining lessons (2, 3, or
4), the same terms specified for the "At Teacher's
Home (Dynamic)" lessons also apply to the "At
Teacher's Home (Static)" lessons, with the following
exceptions: Because you are committed to an active lesson
set, you will not receive any returned credit to your
Account
from successfully cancelled lessons. These lessons are
still active, so you will be required to schedule a makeup
lesson before the expiry of this lesson set, or this credit
will be lost.
In A Classroom:
To cancel an "In A Classroom"
course that was registered through Strings Connected,
it must be removed from your STM
list before the scheduled time of class 2. Once the second
class begins, the course is considered "active",
and you are now committed to these 8 classes, unless the
course is cancelled. Strings Connected may cancel a course
until the scheduled time of class 3. All 8 classes will
proceed as scheduled even with the absence of any attending
students. If the teacher is unavailable, all students
will be notified before the scheduled time of the missed
class, and a makeup class will be scheduled.
If you have registered
through any of the cities or towns of Durham, you must
follow the procedures specified in their brochures.
